‘This major historical event is draining’
Inspired by Sol Lewitt’s 1974 project ‘122 variations on incomplete open cubes,’ and Mark Gowing’s ‘Sun I’ll be the same’ typographic poster, I decided to base my typographic forms on the shape of a basic 2-dimensional house (as a reflection of the ‘stay at home’ guidelines during Covid alert levels).
Home is more than a place. It’s a cultural concept, an ideal, a kind of loyalty. With millions of people stuck in their homes, lockdown has changed the meaning and the experience of 'home'.
